What safety measures have you put in place?
All teachers have completed Covid-19 awareness training, we have had a risk assessment completed, one way system, strict maximum of 15 in our classes, increased hygiene measures, gaps between classes for cleaning and safe entry/exit, taped dance boxes with 2m between students, boxes for belongings, extra hand sanitiser stations and a roof added so you can wait social distanced outside in the dry. Can we come to class in all tiers?
YES! Anyone under the age of 18 are allowed to come to our classes in all the tier systems.
What if SSPA has to close its doors again?
We really hope this isn't the case but if so we will resume the normal timetable on zoom. This worked really well for lockdown 2.0 and we have no doubt it will work well again.
What is happening with the Ballet Exams?
Our exams have taken place. For all those who were in isolation please click here.
What's happening about the show?
Our show is planned for June 19th 2021. We hope this will go ahead in some shape or form. Click here for updates.
Do we need to wear masks?
Anyone over the age of 11 must wear a mask in all communal areas however it is your choice whether you wish to wear one in the dance studio. We advise to not wear a mask in the studio as it is exercise but if you are concerned please do check out the government guidance here.
What if my child wants to change/stop a class/classes?
We really hope this isn't the case however if so it is still half a terms notice as per the signed registration form so you will need to email us.
Are we still having an award night?
YES! As part of our online programme we decided to have an awards night to celebrate how even in hard times we can pull together and dance. We have bought all the trophies ready and are just waiting for more guidance as to when it is safe to hold our event but it is definitely in the pipeline...maybe at our show day if not before.
Are there any competitions coming up?
Unfortunately there are no planned competitions yet. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more.
Certificates to show we are keeping you safe
We have all the correct measures in place including an up to date risk assessment.
All our teachers have completed the Covid-19 Awareness course. Other teacher certificates available upon request.
